FACILITIES

Televisió de Catalunya is located on a 15-acre site in Sant Joan Despí. Its premises comprise four buildings which total 33,000 m2 of floorspace housing most of the network's production and broadcasting facilities, as well as management and administrative offices.

TVC facilities at Sant Joan Despí include:

• 8 studios with a total of 2,600 m2 of floorspace, 2,400 m2 of set pre-assembly area with carpentry and paint workshops, a props warehouse, set design workshops, wardrobe and 27 dressing rooms. TVC also produces programs in outside production studios such as Media Park, Esplugues and Fotofilm Studios.
  
• continuity studios where programs, pre-recorded or live from in-house studios or exterior locations, and blocks of advertisements are generated in an uninterrupted flow for broadcast. There are four continuity studios at TVC, one for TV3, Canal 33 TVC-Sat and TVC International.
  
• 34 video post-production suites, including two digital suites and seven non-linear digital editing suites, fitted out with computerized HD recording technology.
  
• 8 audio post-production rooms, including five digital rooms.
  
• 3 sound studios and 17 voice-over recording cabins.
  
• 33 ENG/EFP units.
  
• 2 mobile microwave links and a third one equipped with a satellite uplink dish (SNG).
  
• 8 fully-equipped O.B. vans, one capable of producing in 16x9 format.
  
• A large number of microwave links with more than 20 reception and transmission dishes, including a six-meter steering dish. There is also a growing number of fiber optic connections.
  
• Meteorological radar system, detecting precipitation throughout Catalonia. It is the result of an agreement between the Generalitat's Environment Department and the University of Barcelona.
  
• 20 beauty shot cameras throughout Catalonia.
  
• Televisió de Catalunya also has regional facilities located in Girona, Lleida and Tarragona with their own studios and 7 additional field offices in Brussels, Washington, Paris, Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia, and Val d'Aran, with a total of 14 film crews.
